Lifestyle Newborn Session
Lifestyle Newborn Sessions are for parents who don't like posed photos and want the "real moments." There is no wrapping up baby in awkward positions, no props, no teeny tiny wooden beds and generally no plan. We just go with the flow and basically work around baby. If baby needs to feed, we let it happen. I always ask if I can take photos while Mom breastfeeds or if she wants me to step out the room. Most Mom's allow it knowing I'm a Mom myself, we chat about our kids and life. Almost everytime I leave a clients house, I feel I've made new friends.
As it's relaxed and you're in your own home, you're welcome to be barefoot and comfortable.
We utilise your bedroom, the nursery or even your lounge and kitchen. Don't be too concerned if baby is asleep or awake, baby is in charge of this session, we work around him/her. If you have other children and even pets, allow the cuddles, kisses and licks - it will make for great photos.
A lifestyle photographer captures the way YOU have styled your life. Your clothes, home decor and all the other little details that make your life and family unique. I will use your surroundings and your families interactions to guide the session.
Here are a few tips to get your home ready for a Lifestyle Session:
When you book with me, study the natural light in your home. What it looks like in all the rooms we will be shooting. I don't use flash so its all natural light. It must be well lit defused light. I do ask my clients to WhatsApp me some photos at specific times in the day.
Tidy and declutter. I'm not saying pack everything away. Just neaten up a bit. A lighter colour
duvet / blanket looks better in photos, something plain and neutral - I love white.
Don't be afraid to get in the garden.
I don't have a pretty home? If you really feel we should do the photoshoot somewhere else, maybe a family member or friend has a pretty home with good light? To be honest, we only really need
Co-ordinate colours, not too matchy but splashes of the same colour works nicely.

Feed baby before I arrive (a nice long feed), hopefully I can get some shots of baby asleep.
Keep the room warm and have backup clothing (Mom & Dad) in case baby spits up.
Have baby dressed in his/her outfit, every time you change baby, he/she gets cold and will wake up or want more milk.
Finally, my style is super natural and somewhat moody. Below are some sessions I have done:
